Question
i am still nursing my 1 yr old,and having period issues ,can nursing affect my cycle and can it mess with my thyroid and lastly, how do i ween.

Answer
Hello, yes nursing can effect your cycles, how long they are, the bleeding cramping etc... its actually the hormones that fluctuate with nursing as you wean.

No it shouldn't have any effect on your thyroid. Although your thyroid can effect many things, including nursing. so if that is off balance, issues can arise.

And you wean by cutting out one feeding per week. starting with the feeding that is least important. like if baby falls asleep every night nursing, thats not likely the best one to start with, start with one in the middle of the day that is the shortest and has minimal emotional significance to make it easiest on you and the baby.

Hope that helps!
