Breastfeeding/1 month old baby did not gain weight

Question
Hello, I am really worried..my 1 month old baby girl did not gain any weight.
At birth she was 2.85 kg. After a month she still is 2.85kg.
It was a normal delivery with no complication. The baby was born in the 37th week.
She is being breastfed at least 8-9 times a day.
The only other noticeable issue with her is that, last week she did pass stool. After waiting for 5 days, I had to use glycerene based medicine to help her pass stool. This week again she hasn't passed stool.
Any suggestion on how to get her to gain weight and pass stool normally would be very helpful.

Thanks..
Himani

Answer
it sounds like she is nursing, but not efficiently. so you need to have that checked out by someone in person.  go to www.lll.org and find a councilor close to you, or locate a lactation consultant to evaluate her latch and position.

also go to www.drjacknewman.com and watch the breastfeeding videos on there to see how to tell she is getting enough milk flow into her mouth. I still suggest you get it checked by a specialist ( not a pediatrician. someone who actually knows allot about nursing, asap.

good luck!
