Question
QUESTION: ten months after my first child,i used fertility pills to try to get pregnant quickly while i was still breastfeeding my first child,i did get pregnant immediately but resulted to miscarriages, twice, consecutively.i'm feeling really bad,are the miscarriages due to my use of pills while still breastfeeding?please answer.

ANSWER: no, the breastfeeding should have no bearing on your having miscarriages. and the hormones shouldn't react to the pills negatively also. the body knows how to regulate its hormones unless  you are seriously over doing it... but at 10 months, it would be more likely that the body would dry up your milk supply rather than miscarry a pregnancy. as it already thinks the baby is weaning...

eat well, rest much, your body can handle being pregnant and nursing at the same time. Women do it all the time.

That being said, I don't know the meds you took and dosages etc. but I  am not a medical doctor either. I just know that it isn't that likely in my experience, to have what you experienced because of nursing a 10 month old.

((wishing you well ))

I know that had to be hard... I hope it works for you next time..

QUESTION: THANK YOU FOR ANSWERING ME SO QUICKLY,AS U GUESSED I REALLY WISH I HAD ANSWERS FOR WHY THIS IS HAPPENING,MY GYNECOLOGIST GAVE CONTRACEPTIVES TO USE FOR A MONTH,SO, I CAN ALLOW MY BODY&MIND REST FOR A MONTH OR TWO,BUT I'LD REALLY APPRECIATE IT IF U COULD GIVE SOME TIPS ON WHAT COULD HELP PREVENT THIS POSSIBLY,THANKS AGAIN FOR REPLYING ME SO PROMPTLY.

Answer
Unfortunately because I don't know exactly why it is happening, I can't give you suggestions to prevent it from happening again.

The only suggestions I would have would be to eat well, continue taking prenatal or multi vitamins, chart your cycle ( go to ovusoft.com or read Toni welchers taking charge of your fertility ) and see how your cycle goes from just a curiosity perspective. watch for luteal phase defect or not enough progesterone in late phases by temperatures. and if you see those drops get put on a progesterone supplement.

That is really all you can do... and hope for the best.

I wish you luck!
