Question
I have a question, my one month old went 5 days witout pooping, went in and they stuck a thermometer around in her butt, and then she went that was last night, now today she still hasn't gone and is irritable. what can i do, is this normal?
also how can i increase my milk supply, i want to start pumping and freezing, i pump now but dont get very much. please help. thank

Answer
its very normal at this age , the colostrum leaves the milk and there is no more laxative to help them poop all the time.  Her discomfot is that she has to learn how to move her bowels without help from that. there isnt anything you can really do to help , bicycling her legs, rubbing her belly helps sometimes. but she has to work through it.

as far as increasing your milk , start pumping at the same time each day and get that on a schedule and your breasts will adjust to that and make the extra milk.  you can also take fenugreek and mothers milk tea to help boost supply.

I hope that helped!
