Question
Please help! My baby is now 4 months old and the doctors say she has acid reflux. I have her on Previcid and it all of a sudden seems like it is not working again. I am at her full dosage. I already have cut all milk products out of my diet. She screams in pain when she is breastfeeding. I am scared that she will start going down in weight. The Doctors don't seem to be helping. I have already tried gripe water, mylanta, mylocon, axid pro, and previcid. I need to do something to make sure that my baby gets enough to eat. Please please please help!

Answer
if she is 4 months old and still thriving, she is getting plenty to eat. it's uncomfortable for her I am sure. most often reflux works itself out by 6 months old.  It sounds like you've tried just about all you can.  Keep her upright after each feed, even while she sleeps. prop her bed up some by putting something under the mattress or letting her sleep in a boppy pillow.

You can try to give her probiotics. ( go to a nutrition store like whole foods and have them tell you what kind is best for her and her problems ) and this should help allot. while there you can also get some rescue remedy, as this will help ease her discomfort and help her relax without side effects of medications.

Try not to worry so much about her gaining weight. if she was going to have a problem, she would have already!

I hope that helped!
