Breastfeeding/Pumping

Question
My son is going on 10 weeks old eating 4-5 oz every 3 hours. I can't pump enough for one feeding during one pumping session. I have recently started Regalene to increase my milk production, I haven't notice a increase in my pumping outage.

I am pumping every 2.5-3 hours while I am at work and pump after he nurses at home. What else can I do to increase my milk supply and my pumped milk.

While nursing, he nurses really good in the morning, but after that it he keeps letting go (like I can't keep him latched on), like he isn't getting much.

Help, what should I do.

Answer
remember that if you are judging the 4-5 ounces from a bottle that you have pumped, by what he would normally eat in a certian period, know that he will guzzle that bottle far quicker than he would nurse. and when he guzzles the bottle because its so easy for him ( rather than milking you ) the trigger that tells him he is full is not in tact. so he will take 5 ounces even though he may only need 3.

you can also pump more often, take fenugreek tabs and also mothers milk tea. but my guess is your worrying for nothing and he is getting plenty. as long as he is growing and having wet diapers and such, then he is fine :)

its also very normal to have the most milk in the am then through out the day do whats called cluster feeding. shorter feedings more often :)  its best for overnight digestion that way.

good luck!
