Question
i been breastfeading my son since he was born, supplimental breastfeeding mostly bottles. but anyway i am spotting a tiny bit when i go to the bathroom and we have been sexually active more lately. i haven't had a period since the first week, my questions are why would i be spotting? and how long til you get your period back after birth? he is 8 months now and today is my first time spotting.

Answer
there are many reasons you could be spotting. This isnt really an issue with breastfeeding but more an issue with hormones. If it concerns you , you need to go to your doctor. Possible reasons to spot, you could be pregnant, implantation spotting, sex could have irritated your cervix, something could be wrong and the list can go on. Even if you didnt have a period previously, you could still get pregnant. Or you could be starting your period.

I reccommend you call your dr and see what he thinks. Good luck!
