QuestionDear Expert,
My wife labor last week a twins, it was natural (non caesarean section) preterm labor in 34 weeks of pregnancy, the babies heavy 2250 grams female and 1900 grams male. They are in very good health, vital reflex are excellent, shape of babies is normal My wife have sufficient milk, but some times we use a baby fabricate milk when the tow babies seek to eat at the same time. Our issues are:
- how much of milk to give each baby in MLs
- We recognize that the babies suck but no milk go out from the bottle, and the duration of suck can long for one hour, so we are confused.
- Any advice you can provide us is helpful.
If I miss any thing to mention please tell me.
Thank you in advance.
AnswerWhen both babies are hungry at the same time, I suggest tandem nursing. Have both babies feed off one breast. this way, you dont have to worry about the bottle at all. Go to this following website to get more questions answered on how to nurse twins.

It is best to nurse both babies at once. If you must use a bottle , then you should ask your pediatrician what volume he suggests. As it is based on weight. but if they are taking the bottle for that long, then it doesnt work too well. If you can find a lactation specialist by you, possibly on that web page I gave you earlier, they might have someone in your area, have the babies latch evaluated and get both babies nursing at once ! it saves alot of time and energy!
