Question
I stopped breastfeeding my 16 month old daughter 5 days ago, I somewhat have been gradually cutting the breast feedings down since she started on table food. I have been using a lot of different methods to try to relieve the pain cabbage leaves, pain relievers sage and also my DR. prescribed me Bromocriptine 2 days ago. The problem I had when taking the Rx was I was getting some pretty bad side effects so I stopped after only taking one dose. I'm in a lot of pain and I have several lumps throughout my breast. What should I do without having to drain my breast?

Answer
continue with the cabbage leaves and the sage tea. you can put the tea bags on your breasts also.  becuase you are SO full, I reccomend pumping ONLY to comfort. You dont want to get an infection by letting them go too long so full. Do not empty them. only until they are not SO full. then, push it as long as you can and do the same. it will take a few days but your body should get the hint. Usually I reccomend people wean one feeding at a time. it sounds like this might have been a little too fast for your body.

I hope that helped!
