Breastfeeding/18 month old vomiting breast milk

Question
I have been breast feeding my daughter for 18months. She eats and drinks a normal diet, and most just breast feeds when she's tired or fussy. I've always continued to feed her while I'm sick with no problems. The past two days I've been feeling queasy and a little weak but I'm still breast feeding. My daughter woke up the night before last heaving and vomiting fiercely. After I cleaned up I tried to put her back to sleep on the breast and 5min later she threw up in the same manner. Yesterday I didn't let her breast feed all day and she was fine, eating and drinking and playing like normal. I tried to breast feed last night and no more than 5min later she vomited again. I called her doctor and the nurse said she might have a virus, but that doesn't make any sense she eats and drinks everything fine except breast milk. I'm the only one showing signs of being sick.

Answer
Typically Breastmilk is soothing. My guess is it is just a bit of a fluke that it happens that way. In fact, the more you nurse through being sick, it will reduce her illness length, duration and severity.

Feel better soon! and keep up the nursing!
