Breastfeeding/low breast milk

Question
Hi Ruth,
my son is 5.5 months now and during the 1st 2.5 months after his birth i was breastfeeding him with no problems at all but after going back to work i was unable to pump as there is no facility for me to pump in private and i work 9 hours a day plus my job is pretty stressful, this has seriously made my milk flow very low and the only time my son breastfeeds is while he is asleep with me at night and it is for short periods of time, i can hardly get anything out when i pump, during the day he is on formula and i started weaning 2 weeks ago. i would love to be able to breastfeed him a whole lot more and i was wondering if you could tell me how i can increase my milk supply, what foods can i eat to boost it or what fluids can i take, i hate that my son has come to rely on formula and i want to change that.

thanks so much
Abby.

Answer
The more fiber you get the more milk you will make. You can take anything with extra fiber, mothers milk tea, fenugreek , blessed thistle from nutrition stores etc.  and you can pump as often as you have time available. When you are home pump every 2 hours. between all those things, you should start to build a supply back up. It will take a while but you can do it :)

Good luck!
