Breastfeeding/breastfeeding with a rash

Question
My baby is 4 days old.  I just started getting a rash that kind of looks like hives all over.  I was wondering what could cause it, and if it is ok to continue breastfeeding?

Answer
Yes, continue to nurse. The baby has already been exposed to what you have. long before you had symptoms of it. As your body make immunities for the rash, it will give them to the baby. Have the rash checked out of course by a doctor. but nursing should be fine. If he prescribes medication you can check at www.safefetus.com for its safety with nursing. If it isnt safe, ask for an alternative that is.

I hope that helped!
