Question
I have been pumping breast milk to feed my daughter since she was born. She always is fed the milk from a bottle so i am wondering if it will be any easier for her to transition to formula. She is four and a half mths and i would like to switch to formula soon. I need suggestions and will i wean her same as you have suggested to the other mothers?

Answer
I cannot say if it will be easy for your daughter to go to formula easily. It will depend on how her body handles the formula. Doing it slowly is the best choice to see if she develops any allergies to the milk etc. I would start with maybe just one ounce a week for a while until you see how her digestive system handles it. that way, if she doesn't do well, you still will have milk to pump and give her.  this will be easier on you as well as you can make less milk over time.

Good luck!
