Question
Hello Thank you for answering my question. I have a 9 month old that I am breast feeding and this past week I became very ill with sinustis. I was put on Agumentin 10 days as well asMethylpresnisolone 4mg dospak 21's (6 days)
I have reviewed both medications and I am concerned with the Methylpresnisolone 4mg dospak

My question is can I breast feed safely my 9 month old while taking these meds? If not can I began immediately after my last dose of the steriod? or does it linger in my system?

Final question I am already seeing a decrease in my milk supply will either of these med's effect it?
Thank you

Answer
Unfortunatly I cannot tell you about the medications specifically as it goes against my scope of practice. However, you can go to www. safefetus.com and type in any drug whenever you want and get research on each one ;)

You can also go to  http://neonatal.ttuhsc.edu/lact/ and get information from Dr. Hale. He also has a book out with all the medications and breastfeeding and studies that have been done.

Good luck!
