Breastfeeding/trying to get pregnant post breastfeeding

Question
Hi Ms. Kraft,

I delivered a healthy baby boy in Feb 1 of this year and exclusively breast fed him for about two and a half months.  I stopped nursing on April 21 of this year because I wanted to try to have another child right away.  I haven't had any periods yet and I wanted to ask if there was anything I can do to get my body to ovulate?  I heard from people that there's a shot you can get to increase your chances of getting pregnant.  Any advice on getting pregnant is much appreciated.  By the way, I took a pregnancy test two days ago and it as negative.

Answer
Unfortunatly there is no way to tell when your period will come back. Everyones hormones are so very different and they act differently as well due to many factors. If after a few months you may want to talk with your doctor and see what happens or get the book " taking charge of your fertility" by Toni Welcher. Fabulous book that will help you know if and when you are ovulating.
