Breastfeeding/breastfeeding 15 month old

QuestionHi there, thank you for taking the time to read and hopefully give me some insight on this issue..
I have an almost 4 year old, and a 15 month old... I was unfortunately not able to BF my first as she was just too big..lol 10.7 when born.. my milk never had a chance to come in... my second is a very successful breastfeeder..lol She still nurses 4/5 times a day as well as a full solid food diet... I have tried to wean.. but not successful.. not really an issue as of yet... until a couple of days ago... all of a sudden it is really sensitive when she nurses... almost to the point that I cringe when she latches... is there a reason for that?... Have not had my period since she was born.. so not sure if I could just be ovulating and just be more sensitive or whatever.. any suggestions.. time to wean?.. btw.. shouldn't I have gotten a period by now.. she is not EBF... she is on solids as well ...looking for a bit on insight as it is getting more and more uncomfortable... thank you for your time:)
AnswerIt is strange this would happen after all this time. It is not typical. There must be something else going on. It is possible you could be ovulating, it could also be that you are pregnant if you have not been careful. As you can ovulate and get pregnant before you ever see a period. It could be you are getting a yeast infection ( thrush ). It is really hard to say without actually seeing her and her nursing patterns. My suggestion would be find a la leche leage group close by and talk to a leader who can watch her latch and see what is up. You do not have to wean if you don;t want to.
It is not unusual to go this long without a period. Everyone is very different and their body works differently with hormones. So that does sound normal.
Sorry I couldn't be more help :(
