Question
how do i stop breastfeeding? my son is 18 months old and will not give up on breastfeeding. sometimes he gets so mad he hits me or even worse he bangs his head on the floor and screams.. what do i do??

Answer
Weaning is hard when one of the people in the process is not ready. Try to do it as slow as you can. Take out one regular session per week. If he asks for snack nursing in between, then distract him and tell him not now. But a little later, let him nurse so he knows you are good for your word. THen just start making the " in a little bit" longer and longer. Either early morning or right before bed are the ones you want to wean last as they are typically the most comforting for a child. If it is too abrupt, you will get many more tantrums as they don't understand the rejection.

I hope that helped!
