Question
When or if I have children, I do plan to breastfeed. However, I have extremely sensitive nipples in general. I always have. Would having very sensitive nipples pose a problem in breastfeeding?

Answer
You never really know... sorry that may not be the answer that you wanted to hear :(

I have had many women who easily go on to nurse with seriously sensitive nipples. breastfeeding is a very different feeling than any sexual play so my suggestion would be to make sure you have a lactation consultant, doula or La leche league contact established to have the latch checked right after birth and follow up in the following week in case they become sore you can fix an issue right away.
