Question
How long does it take to breed a horse?

Answer
There is a window before, during, and after ovulation. I use a vet to ultrasound my mares. They can induce ovulation and time the breedings. I have had a 100% success rate in early spring breeding in this manner. It is a five or 6 day process. The breeding itself takes 10 minutes. You can do live cover or artificial insemination in this manner. I hope t his helps.
