Question
I have a buckskin quarterhorse mare.  I would like to breed her to get a buckskin foal.  What are my best choices in stallion colors to get a buckskin foal.

Answer
Hi Marcia,
If you breed to a Bay you have a 43-44% chance of having a Buckskin. To another Buckskin a 43-44% chance of having a Buckskin. All other colors throw off less of a chance. Much of what color the foal will be is also determined by the Red Factor and the Agouti of the sire and dam.

I hope this helps.
