Question
QUESTION: Does a pregnant cat's belly drop before giving birth like a womans does? How do you know when things are about to happen?

ANSWER: Hi Melissa
the belly does not drop, but she will displace a small plug indicating she is about to give birth
She will also become frantic and seek somewhere quiet
You should be looking for this to start happening at about 65 days from the date of mating

QUESTION: Sorry to bother you again. First of all thank you for your answer. Now I have another one. Is there a calm before the storm? Do the babies not move around so much before birth or are they active the whole time, unless they are asleep? We all (my family) have been able to see and fell them move. When she loses this plug you talk about, will I for sure see it or will she eat it or what? I feel like I am going to be a Grandma and I am sitting on the edge of my seat. Very happy here..

Answer
Hi Melissa
you will notice the plug it will be a yellow coloured object about the size of a walnut. The kittens will move around all the time unless they are asleep.
If you know when she mated then you need to count 65 days from then and expect the arrivals to put in an appearance around that time. They usually come about 02.00 am local time lol. Keep happy and soon you will be a Grandma
