Breeding and Showing Cats/non registered pedigree cats

Question
hi, im interested in buying a pedigree cat - korat and/or russian blue and have researched breeders on the internet, but they all seem to be miles away from the london area. Is there any breeders list more centrally for breeders that do not register their cats with the GCCF, as i do not intend to breed or show the cats. obviously i understand that part of the registration is to prove that they are from a long line of pure breads. But i was just wondering if their was any more local to me that were not registered and how i would find out. thanks

Answer
Hi Gerry

Your best port of call would be the breed clubs.  If they don't have a kitten list it would be best to speak to one of their officials who will have knowledge of where the breeders are located in your area.

Good luck.

Expertise

I can give answers on cat breeding and showing having 'served' over 30 years in this particular field. I head up a Yahoo Group and also a cat club (NBA Cat Club) devoted to educating novices in the correct way to breed, and also show with both GCCF and TICA on a regular basis, and am well versed with the show world, having been involved in the management of the major GCCF Supreme Show in the UK for over 25 years. Genetics however is not my strong point.

Experience

30 years of continuous cat breeding and showing with two major organisations.
