Breeding and Showing Cats/pregnant cat

Question
Amory is 7 weeks (possibly 8 weeks) pregnant. For the past couple of days I have noticed that she is going to the litter boxes very often, but not producing any waste. She will go back and forth from box to box (sometimes she gets lucky a urinates a little). Right after doing this, she will just lay down in the room for a great amount of time until she leaves or repeats this process. Is it possible she is going to deliver soon? We have figured her due date to be around the 14 of April.

Thanks alot!

Answer
You say that Amory is quite advanced in her pregnancy so it may be that the kittens are pressing on her bladder making her believe she needs to go.  However its not something that I have had any problems with in my cats.  It may be worth just getting her checked out with her vet in case she has a urinary infection.

Expertise

I can give answers on cat breeding and showing having 'served' over 30 years in this particular field. I head up a Yahoo Group and also a cat club (NBA Cat Club) devoted to educating novices in the correct way to breed, and also show with both GCCF and TICA on a regular basis, and am well versed with the show world, having been involved in the management of the major GCCF Supreme Show in the UK for over 25 years. Genetics however is not my strong point.
