Question
ive heard that cats can have more than one litter in a pregnancy of different fathers, is this true and can she also have more than one litter if she has mated with the same father over 2 or 3 days thank you

Answer
Dear Gail

When a cat is in season she is receptive to any cat that may come her way and yes it is possible for her kittens to be sired by different fathers.  However, she will only have one litter and theyshould all be born more or less the same time.  The eggs are thought to be released all at the same time thereby only one litter will result.

Marcia.
