Question
I have a cat that is over a year old and she is acting weird as of last night. She usually comes out when we get home but she was on the couch and disappeared. Not thinking anything of it, hours passed and we noticed she was still not out so we find her under my bed and she wouldn ot come out. My husband pulled her out and she just laid there. He tried to pick her up and she meowed as if she was hurting. Keep in mind, she does not like my husband, she usually runs from him. I tried to get her and she meowed too. We checked her legs paws front and back to see if she may be hurt but she got up and walked fine. She drank some water and ate a little too. I held her for awile but she then jumped down carefully and went back under my bed. TOday she is a little better, she is walking around and i held her today too before i left. She still seems weird. her pupils are big then medium sized. Could she be depressed? We are moving this weekend and she has seen us pack boxes up too.Could she have a virus or something, bit by a spider? help!

Answer
I think you have answered your own question - the packing of boxes is being very stressful to her and I would hazard a guess that this is the problem.  Is it possible for you to put her in a cattery for a few days until you have unpacked in your new house?  She is obviously very upset by all the strange happenings going on and is hiding away.  The reference to her pupils would support her being very worried about things.

Marcia.
