Hello,

I am looking to buy a adult cat on the active GCCF reg - but the owner has already had the Gccf reg put in there name as the reg owner.

and i was wondering what happens on the sale of the cat, as i would then want to put the cats gccf reg into my own name?

would do i need from the seller and what would the gccf require to change the reg owner?

The present owner who is named on the registration slip should give you a signed pink transfer slip which you can then send off to the GCCF with your details on and they will transfer the cat into your name.  It is really as simple as that.  Without that form you can't do much so make sure that is available when you collect the cat.  If the form has been lost you may be given a handwritten blue form, but that will not say whether the cat is registered on the active or non active register.

However if you are going to breed from the cat, to enable you to comply with the GCCF rules you will need the pedigree of the Mum so that you can replicate the pedigree details onto new pedigree forms for the kittens.  Do also make sure you receive the vaccination certificate as well.
