Question
hi its me again my cat has just days to go now before she has her babies , i read that cats dont eat for 24 hours prior to giving birth is this correct because my cat is eating like a horse, also her teats dont seem to be very big or full like ive seen in pictures of other pregnant cats is this normal thank you gail

Answer
Hi Gail
Imminent births usually cause mum to seek a nest hence the thought she stops eating and concentrates on finding a safe place to birth
She will stop eating and seek a cosy place to nest.
You could help persuade her to chose a place you like so make delivery easy for both of you.
The fact her nipples are not large or full indicates she still has a few days to go. Just before birth her nipples will fill out and you may see brown crusts, dried milk, or she may just express milk

Just keep her nice and quiet
And good luck
