Question
Hi, I have a male silver chinchilla persian(3 years old) that has never mated before, and studing him to mate with same breed female(1 year old) that has never mated before either, she wants to mate and he has no intrest in her at all, he sniffs her then runs away, what can i do to have them mate? thank you tink.

Answer
hi Tink
You said the male has never mated before. Is there a reason for this? At 3 years old he should have mated several times. Where did you get him from?
It seems he may be a nonvirile cat. Are you sure he is entire?
You cannot force him to mate and I think he may have some problem that cannot be resolved by medication or help. He will either take up activity with a female or he may never mate.
