Question
my cat is pregnant and at first her nipples where pink and large now the colour has faded and they look kind of deflated if that makes sense.there also seems to be dry skin round them and some brown skin a the base what do you think this is. thanks

Answer
Hi Kim

How far into her pregnancy is she.  Its not unusual for the pinkness to go off but the nipples still remain large.  Are you sure she is still pregnant?  It may be a good idea to pop her along to the vet for a scan to check that there are kittens in there and that they are alive.

Expertise

I can give answers on cat breeding and showing having 'served' over 30 years in this particular field. I head up a Yahoo Group and also a cat club (NBA Cat Club) devoted to educating novices in the correct way to breed, and also show with both GCCF and TICA on a regular basis, and am well versed with the show world, having been involved in the management of the major GCCF Supreme Show in the UK for over 25 years. Genetics however is not my strong point.

Experience

30 years of continuous cat breeding and showing with two major organisations.
