Question
QUESTION: Dear marcia,
I have two cats a male and a female but I am keen to know there breeds my female cats hairs  are full white and short and her eyes are blue and circled her nose is pink and she has a tall tail and my male cat us also white he had brown eyes and sometimes they are circled and sometimes the are not (his eyes sometimes looks like a line) and he has long hairs and its too much hairs his ears are small and nose are pink
So can you please tell me there breed... I will be waiting for your answer

ANSWER: Dear Reem

Without a picture is impossible to guess at the breed, but my guess is that they are normal domestic shorthairs with mixed ancestory.  Without having the cats from a breeder with a pedigree I think it would be safe to say that they are not of any particular breed.

Answer
Dear Reem

The head shape really does not look like any particular breed.  I assume they have come to you from a rescue or similar so it is almost certain that they have mixed ancestory and therefore do not confirm to any particular breed.  This is the sort of cat that makes up the largest proportion of cats around the world.  They come into the category of Domestic Long Hair or Short Hair.

Expertise

I can give answers on cat breeding and showing having 'served' over 30 years in this particular field. I head up a Yahoo Group and also a cat club (NBA Cat Club) devoted to educating novices in the correct way to breed, and also show with both GCCF and TICA on a regular basis, and am well versed with the show world, having been involved in the management of the major GCCF Supreme Show in the UK for over 25 years. Genetics however is not my strong point.
