Hi there I would like to know is my cat pregnant because her nipples is starting to go pink and the hair around her nipples are falling out!

And she like to sleep outside during the day time and night time she mostly awake. She is making her bed on the top of the dog kennel and she stays there the whole day.

And as you can see there's a rash on her stomach and its almost red but it looks better now. She also has a bold spot on her back and her tail the hair looks like it falling out. Is this something I need to worry about?

Regards Quintin

Answer
Hi Quintin

I would definitely have a vet look at your cat as she shouldn't have a bald patch nor any fur falling out on her tail.

Her teat looks like she is probably pregnant as it does look bigger than normal. Congratulations. If they have just started to go pink, then she is about 3 weeks pregnant.

Regards

Marcia.

Expertise

I can give answers on cat breeding and showing having 'served' over 30 years in this particular field. I head up a Yahoo Group and also a cat club (NBA Cat Club) devoted to educating novices in the correct way to breed, and also show with both GCCF and TICA on a regular basis, and am well versed with the show world, having been involved in the management of the major GCCF Supreme Show in the UK for over 25 years. Genetics however is not my strong point.
