Question
QUESTION: i have a cat named peaches that i would like to verify the breed for ...if she has one.she is beautiful and i would love to show her but most competitions require a breed:she has long hair and is mostly fur, most of her fur is a blue gray color with patches of tan color.her chest, chin, belly, and paws are all white.there is a line up the middle of her stomach that is white and that connects the white on her chest and stomach.
the roots of her hair are off-white and she has almost the same amount of white gray and cream on her.her eyes are amber on the outer part of the iris and bright green on the inside.she is small 9 months old and has a sweet affectionate and bold attitude.if you could help me i would be very thankful!

ANSWER: Hi Alison
Thanks for the question
Now descriptions are OK but what is needed is a little more scientific information :-)
Do you know anything about her parents, were they pedigree cats. If one was a pedigree then she may be classed as a pedigree X. The colours are not distinctive enough to help determine the breed. Also many shows would want to see confirmation of her pedigree in order to allow you to show her in that particular class. For instance if she were a Ragdoll then she would need at least 4 generations of Ragdoll ancestry, listed with the registry in her pedigree before any major registries would allow her in. The major registries are CFA, TICA, FiFE based in Europe and US and GCCF based in UK.
If you have a picture of her it may help
However if you wish to show her without any genuine pedigrees being available then you can list her as a household pet. The only requirement listing her as a Household pet would be that she is neutered. But if she is a well balanced happy cat of unknown ancestry then perhaps neutering is a good option.
I wish you well with her. Happy new year

QUESTION: her mother was a calico and her father is unknown i understand the dilemma of not having her pedigree and would like to explore some of the other options you have listed!thank you!

Answer
Hi Allison
It seems it would be impossible to have your cat registered as a pedigree so do consider registering her as a Household Pet. All major registries allow you to register her as a Household pet and compete against other household pets in most classes.Put her in as a particolour semi long hair female. She can attain Grand Status and of course allow you to enter TICA CFA or GCCF shows. She would need to have vaccinations for various diseases and the registries will indicate their own requirements.
Do look on the various web sites for the registries and enjoy yourself with her
Good luck. If you need any more help then do email me off list at raymondwigley@gmail.com
