QuestionQUESTION: Hi there - I have (both registered), a male applehead siamese seal point and a female wedge face siamese seal point. I was about to spay my female but I think the male got to her first. What kind of kittens will they produce?
Hope you can help me out
Thankyou
ANSWER: Hi
They should be lovely kittens. You will no doubt get a variety of types in the litter ranging from the applehead to the wedge faced but I would expect the average look to be somewhere in between the two. As far as whether they would be show or breeding quality, depends on the registry that you are registered with, but of course trends have dictated an extreme type of Siamese. I believe some breeders are working towards the appleheads being recognised in their own right. I would be very interested to hear what you do get.

QUESTION: Hi again :) so you are saying I will get some mixes? How many approximately? The ones that are PURE wedge and PURE applehead, will they breed/give birth to mixes of the two faces? Here's a fun question but I'm dieing to know: Will I get a slender (wedge face) Siamese kitten with longer fur similar to that of an apple face Siamese? Will I get an applehead style body with a wedge face?
Thankyou again --
PS: Should I neuter these kittens since mixing between the two styles is not recommended?
AnswerIts not easy to say exactly how many of each type you will get as we can only work on averages and genetics don't go by the book. Re your question of neutering, this really depends on the registration policies for the breed in the registry you participate in. Here in the UK we would be able to register them all as Siamese as sadly the GCCF don't recognise apple heads as a separate breed, so you would have to be guided by your registering body. If it is indeed the view of your registry that they should not be mixed then you may have no alternative but to neuter the kittens.
