Breeding and Showing Cats/Mating

Question
Hi I have a friend who has a female cat in heat.  I decided to bring over my male cat (not fixed either) so the two could mate.  Upon bring in the male the female hissed, puffed up and refused to let him near her.  He on the other hand was extremly friendly without being too aggresive.  Their both beautiful cats and we really wanted to breed them (I really don't have any desire to breed him with any other cat) Is there anyway I could get her to be more reseptive to him so they could make beautiful babies.  Look foward to your thoughts>

Answer
The simple answer here Ashlee is no. They will mate if she is receptive and no amount of persuasion will cause her to do otherwise. Also be responsible here. What will happen to the kittens when they are born? And think again about what your male cat can do when he is out and about, especially mating with other cats.
If you want them to mate just persevere and it may happen. Keep them together fo about twenty minutes at a time, no food anywhere. Remove them to separate areas for about two hours and then try again. Make sure the female remains on heat.
Good luck
