Expertise
I can answer questions on bidding and on cardplay with the caveat that the former may necessarily involve some subjectivity. I have been playing tournament bridge for over 20 years and I have won several regional tournaments.

Subject: reneging in bridge play

Question
What is the penalty for reneging on one play and discovering it the next play?

Answer
Hi,

If the offending side won the revoke trick then that trick is transferred to the opponents. In addition, if the offending side won any other trick after the revoke occurred then one additional trick is transferred to the opponents resulting in a 2 trick penalty.

If the offending side did not win the revoke trick but won tricks afterwards then there is a 1 trick penalty.

If the offending side won the revoke trick but nothing afterwards there is a 1 trick penalty.

If the offending side won neither the revoke trick nor anything thereafter then there is no penalty at all.
