Question
If a player did not see the card that his partner played, can he ask him to identify his card?

Answer
Hi,

You are allowed to see the cards played by your partner and by the opponents up to the time that your side plays a card to the next trick. After that time you can no longer ask about or see the previous trick. You should make sure, therefore, that you see all of the cards that are played to a trick before that trick is completed.

I can answer questions on bidding and on cardplay with the caveat that the former may necessarily involve some subjectivity. I have been playing tournament bridge for over 20 years and I have won several regional tournaments.
