Question Playing 5 card majors, partner opens 1C with 3 clubs and 19 points. What is my best response when I have only 4 points?
Generally if you have only 4 points your best response is to pass. You might take a bid, however, if you have a decent 5 card or longer major suit. You might also bid id your 4 points is an ace. Finally, if you have club shortness, 2 clubs or fewer, you could bid one of your longest suit.
I can answer questions on bidding and on cardplay with the caveat that the former may necessarily involve some subjectivity. I have been playing tournament bridge for over 20 years and I have won several regional tournaments.
