Britain/United Kingdom/England/Gatwick to Exeter

Question
Hi

I am landing at Gatwick airport and have to go to Exeter. I think the best way is to take the National Railway from Gatwick to Exeter (with one change in Reading).

I am wandering how much time I should allow myself to get from gatwick airport to gatwick station. I arrive in the South terminal.

Thank you
Marie

Answer
Hello Marie,

I agree that your best route is via the rail option changing at Reading.
You'll be pleased to know that the rail station at Gatwick is inside the airport terminal. As such, you need only really to allow time to clear customs (which I believe it normally recommended to be 45-60 minutes). Once you are through into the arrivals lounge, it is a 2-minute walk across the terminal to the rail station ticket office with direct access to the platforms.

Kind Regards
Michael
