Question
Hi,

Hope you can assist me.

I'll be traveling to Brittan during Apr 08 and I would like to know what a standard train ticket will cost from Gatwick to Liverpool and from Liverpool to Glasgow.

Thanks,

Maritz

Answer
Hello Maritz,
Thank you for your email. I am happy to offer what assistance I can with the prices of the train tickets you require, but would recommend that you also research this further yourself, since train tickets prices vary constantly in the UK.
As you are not travelling for some time, you may be able to get a particularly good deal by booking in advance. For example, a train ticket purchased today to travel from Gatwick to Liverpool could cost as little as £27.50. However, by paying for your ticket on the day you travel, a standard ticket will cost considerably more at £121.50.
Similarly, tickets between Liverpool and Glasgow can cost as little as £15.50, but the standard fare is £48.50.

To get the cheapest deals, you would need to book in advance, and specify exactly which trains you would be taking. Both journeys require at least one change en route.

If you purchase the standard tickets, then these will be valid on any journey on the day you choose.

You can look up train times and fares at the National Rail website at www.nationalrail.co.uk

I hope that this has been helpful - please do not hesitate to contact me should you require any further advice.

Regards
Michael

Hopefully having lived here since birth, I will know a fair bit about the area...although I can't claim to know it all!
