Question
My fiance is a locksmith by trade and I work in healthcare with the disabled and are considering seeking work in London/UK. Is there a need for our trades in the UK and how do we apply for work visas.

Answer
I am sure there is a need but am not sure this in itself will grant you access.

If you are a qualified healthcare professional you may find work and get an exemption visa by being sponsored but I don't think your partner would qualify.

Best to look on the Government home offcie website or speak to an immigration lawyer.

I have been living in London for the last 20 years so can answer general enquiries relating to the city. I also live near the British Museum so I can answer questions on accomodation in that area. I have also travelled extensively in the US so I can offer advice to Americans coming to London on a cross cultural basis.
