Britain/United Kingdom/England/what's it called?

Question
Hello,
In the United States the document required to drive a motor vehicle legally on
the streets is called a Driver's License.  What's it called in the UK?

Answer
There really is not much difference -- the Brits call it a driver's licence (note slight difference in spelling). If you're renting a car in the UK, you can use a legitimate US driver's licence to "hire" (instead of "rent") a car -- you should have had one for two years, they say. Minimum car rental age for most companies is 23, maximum age is 70, though some companies allow age 21 and up to age 80.

Hope that helps!
