Hi there, i have recently booked a holiday via expedia .co.uk.  Leaving on Sunday the 5th July, I am due to arrive at Heathrow at 14:10 and have a connecting flight leaving Gatwick at 17:40.  Both flights are through BA.  Is this transfer possible given the timescale?  Thanks

Connections between Heathrow and Gatwick are possible in the time scale you suggest. The journey time is normally up to 90 minutes by coach, so your additional time should allow for baggage claim and check-in.
