Question
QUESTION: Hi Alun,

I've finalized my trip and I will now be staying at the Apollo Hotel in London.  In my previous question I asked about stations from Bayswater Hotel to Euston station.  Is the Apollo Hotel within walking distance of the Euston Train Station or will I need to take the tube to this station?  We'll also be watching Les Miserables at the Queen Theatre on Friday night.  I can't seem to find any info on the theatre.  Is it far away from my hotel and how is the theatre?  Thanks again for all of your help!

ANSWER: Hi - there are several Apollo hotels in London - can you give me the address, please? If it's the one in Bayswater, you might be advised to look at reviews on TripAdvisor before booking ...

Les Mis is at the beautiful Queen's Theatre in Shaftesbury Avenue - almost all of London's theatres are on this Avenue. They have a  terrific website at www.LesMis.com

Looking forward to hearing back from you, when I will be happy to assist further.

QUESTION: Here is the address for the Apollo Hotel I will be staying at:

64-66 Queensborough Terrace
London  W2 3SH

I hope that this hotel choice was good because I'll hear it from my wife if it
isn't!  Thanks again for your help!

Answer
Hmm, well see what previous guests have said - and note that it's rated about 900th of the 1,100 hotels listed for London.

You'll see why I stay at www.base2stay.com, rated 20th:

Feel free to come back to me, of course.

(It's perhaps the best part of an hour's walk to Euston from the Apollo, incidentally.)

Expertise

As a full time, UK based, travel journalist, I travel almost constantly around the whole of the UK, searching out restaurants, hotels and "must see" places. Visitors for both business and pleasure are welcome to ask questions. I almost always travel by public transport, so questions on rail, air and coach / bus travel are also very welcome. I also regularly write about and use the "Eurostar" rail service between London and Continental Europe - which uses a tunnel under the English Channel - so I am able to help with any questions there, too.
