Question
Please let me know how long it will take to go from London Heathrow to Southampton Piers to meet a cruise ship? What is the quickest, reasonable way to get there. Please provide options if possible. Thank you.

Answer
I don't normally just offer a website link, but there's a page here:

http://www.londontoolkit.com/travel/heathrow_southampton.htm

which gives all the possibilities for you.

It's worth pointing out that you should allow approx 2 hours from flight arrival at Heathrow to leaving the airport, especially if you're flying into London in the early morning.

The coach is undoubtedly the easiest option, as there is no main line rail at Heathrow.

Do come back if I can hlep further please - and do check which Dock you require at Heathrow - it's a huge place!

Happy to help!

Expertise

As a full time, UK based, travel journalist, I travel almost constantly around the whole of the UK, searching out restaurants, hotels and "must see" places. Visitors for both business and pleasure are welcome to ask questions. I almost always travel by public transport, so questions on rail, air and coach / bus travel are also very welcome. I also regularly write about and use the "Eurostar" rail service between London and Continental Europe - which uses a tunnel under the English Channel - so I am able to help with any questions there, too.
