Britain/United Kingdom/England/Heathrow to LST or SRA?

Question
BACKGROUND
We recently modified our itinerary, and are now arriving Heathrow Terminal 5 on Fri., Aug. 21 at 13:10.  My wife wants to avoid the underground, so we will probably take a taxi from Heathrow to either London Liverpool Street (LST) or Stratford London (SRA) where we would spend the night at a hotel in the immediate vicinity.  The following day will will travel by train to Harwich International Port (HPQ) where we will board our ship.
QUESTIONS:
Based on our time of arrival at Heathrow, would it be more convenient --and cost efficient -- for us to taxi to LST or SRA?  Would we be able to find reasonably priced lodging in either location?
Thank you very much for your assistance!

Answer
Hello Jay,
Thanks for your question.

Given that you are arriving in the middle of the day, transport by taxi will be easy to come by for either destination. Since London cabs charge by both time and distance, you will find that it is cheaper to travel to Liverpool Street, which is closer. However, because it is then in more central London you will probably pay more for accommodation. You may prefer to seek your accommodation first and then select your taxi journey based on your chosen hotel.
Enjoy your journey!
