I will be visiting london next month with my husband and 2 childrens aged 4 and 1 year old. I made my reservation in sheraton park tower hotel, I wanted to the safety status of this area, is there a plenty of good resturants around? what safety advise can you give me? until what time can be out in the streets and feel safe with my family? Thank you very muc

Answer
Thank you for your question.

Your hotel is in one of the wealthiest and nicest areas of London, with many restaurant very close by.

Without knowing your budget and likes / dislikes, I can't really help further with restaurant advice - but the excellent concierge desk at the Shearaton Park Tower will be very happy to help.

London is a huge city - some 650 square miles and 10 million people during the working week, so there is some crime - but it varies vastly from area to area - and tourists are rarely affected.

I'm not sure what nationality you re, but the London Police have a relevant site with advice in many languages here:

Do please let me now how I can help make your stay in London even better!

Expertise

As a full time, UK based, travel journalist, I travel almost constantly around the whole of the UK, searching out restaurants, hotels and "must see" places. Visitors for both business and pleasure are welcome to ask questions. I almost always travel by public transport, so questions on rail, air and coach / bus travel are also very welcome. I also regularly write about and use the "Eurostar" rail service between London and Continental Europe - which uses a tunnel under the English Channel - so I am able to help with any questions there, too.
