Question
Hi Michael,
In a previous reply, you recommended the person to take the National Express Bus from Southampton to Heathrow.  If only 10% of the 3500 disembarking cruise ship passsengers choose this route, obviously not all would be able to get on.  Is it correct that this bus runs only once per hour?  Is there any way to ensure our getting on?

Answer
Hello Bill,

Thank you for your email.

The National Express service is indeed the cheapest and most direct route from Southampton to London Heathrow. That said, I would be very surprised if anything near 10% of passengers needed to access such a route, given that there are other closer airports, and of course, many UK-based passengers who do not need onward flights.

However, if you are keen to ensure your space on one of the coaches - which actually only run every other hour - you can book tickets in advance on www.nationalexpress.com

There is some useful information about the general issues of travelling between Southampton Cruise terminals and Heathrow at this page, which you may find helpful:

I hope you enjoy your travels.
