AboutEmoor Expertise I have been traveling almost annually in England or Scotland as a tourist for the last 25 years, so I know quite a bit about train travel, car rental, B&Bs, tourist discounts, standard tourist sites, good places to eat, pubs, prices, and things to do off
I have agreed to help my wife visit friends of her's in the UK. By helping, I am going to watch our 3 kids for 2 weeks and pay her airfare.
She will take care of the rest which should be fairly modest since she is staying with friends etc.
She plans to travel in May 2006. She wants me to buy the tickets this month, October 2005. She thinks the fares are good now and the seats/schedule she prefers are available now and another reason is so I can not change my mind!
When is the best time to purchase tickets?
Thank you.
Answer Unfortunately, I have never been able to figure out any real pattern to the "best" time to buy tickets. Check out several different airlines to get the best figures. You might try expedia.com to see what airlines are featuring good prices, but compare the airlines with expedia because sometimes the airline's price is better -- not always.
Yours wife is correct that you will have more of a choice of seats and schedules if you buy now. I have already purchased tickets to Greece and Turkey next May.
