Is Big Ben easily visible from St. James Park or any of the other parks near Westminster?

Are there any famous pubs around Westminster?

Big Ben is not very visible from St. James's Park...well, maybe if you climbed one of the tallest trees.  The major sights from inside the park are east to Whitehall, with the London Eye  in the background, and west to Buckingham Palace. Big Ben is visible from some smaller parks along the Thames--those just north of Westminster Bridge, on the southside of the Parliament complex, and the Jubilee Gardens on the other side of the river.

Famous pubs?  Well the Red Lion boasts that it is THE most famous pub in London:
