Britain/United Kingdom/England/Concert at Wembley

Question
Hello Sir, I was wondering if you can help me. I will be coming from the U.S. to see two George Michael concerts at Wembley Arena in Dec. 2006. However, I am staying in a Kensington hotel. I was wondering if the tubes are open later in the evening so I can get back to my hotel after the concert which will most likley end at 11:00. If not, are there cabs or busses I can take, or do you suggest I take a hotel room in Wembley? I'd rather not do that since I already have one in Kensington. Thanks for your help. Laurie

Answer
Dear Laurie

There will be no problem getting the tube at that time. Most people going to the concerts will be going home by the same method.

The tube runs till around 12.30 most nights - later at weekends so even if you cant get all the way back to Kensington you will be able to get to central London and take a cab or bus there.

And you DEFINITELY do not want to stay in Wembley - its not very nice!

Wake me up before you gogo!

I have been living in London for the last 20 years so can answer general enquiries relating to the city. I also live near the British Museum so I can answer questions on accomodation in that area. I have also travelled extensively in the US so I can offer advice to Americans coming to London on a cross cultural basis.
